April 23rd

I'll admit that I didn't get much done this week, since I was focused on the Romeo and Juliet projects we had. I'm still deciding on different key poses to draw the song, and I haven't started drawing any in-between frames as a result. I did find out, however, that one of the libraries near my house has a copy of "The Animator's Survival Kit." But it's already been requested by one person, so I don't know if it'll be available soon. Since I want to get the book soon, I'm also looking into other options.
"Disney Animation: The Illusion of Life" looks good, and is written by experts, but in a way that beginning animators can understand without using terms that are too technical. It gives tips and tricks for the reader, and even includes examples of storyboards and animation strips.
"Cartoon Animation (Collector's Series)" also looks helpful, including lessons on how to animate dynamic movement and lip sync to dialogue (or singing in this case).
"Timing for Animation" explains similar tips for animators, including how to draw your own storyboard and how drawings should be spaced out in relation to each other, with clear instructions and pictures to help the reader understand, explaining how timing and spacing can determine how an animation plays out and the mood it creates.
I'd like to check out one of these books, but I still have to see if my local libraries have a copy that will be available soon enough to be used as a source for my project. I'll need to draw a lot more frames if I want to finish in time, and having one of these books will help me to make the animation look smoother and more realistic.
I want to watch a few more DrawWithJazza videos to help me along with this as well.
I'll fill you in on my progress again next week.
